Out and About

The area has a lot to offer with the City of Norwich only eight miles away. Norwich has a cathedral, a castle, museums, cinemas, theatres, lots of shops and plenty of lovely restaurants. Norwich International airport is only 30-40 minutes drive away.

The market towns of Bungay and Beccles are nearby with weekly markets, nice shops, boats available to hire and places to eat.

London is a two-hour train journey away and the University City of Cambridge is 90 minutes drive away.

Stately homes like Sandringham, Holkham Hall and Blickling Hall are all within an hour or so drive and well worth a visit with their beautiful gardens as well.

The RSPB nature reserves are at Titchwell and Minsmere.

There are beautiful beaches at Brancaster, Holkham to the North and the beaches of Southwold and Walberswick in the East are also very popular.

The Norfolk Broads are close by with many boating activities.

There are several swimming pools around, some locally you can hire privately or visit the Sports Park at the UEA and swim in the 50m pool, as well as Riverside pool in Norwich, Waveney pool in Bungay.

Local attractions for children include Bewilderwood, Africa Alive, Banham Zoo, The Play Barn and Pleasurewood hills.
